Frequently Asked Questions About the HSD Gathering

When and where is HSD Gathering 2025?

HSD Gathering 2025 happens at the OAC Arboretum Centre in Guelph, Canada from May 29 – 30, 2025.

What is the cost to attend?

Registration fees are $700 CAD, which is approximately $500 USD. Early bird costing is $625 CAD (~$450 USD) before Jan 31, 2025.

Fees include your registration, materials, lunch and snacks on both conference days, group dinner on May 29 and a welcome reception on May 28.

Accommodation rates start at approximately $100CAD (~$75USD) per person/night for on-campus townhouse residences.

13% HST will be added to all registration and accommodation fees at time of payment.

If you are able to “top up” your registration fees, the funds will go toward supporting the participation of youth, those in equity-deserving groups and those facing financial barriers.

Is there any financial support available?

HSD Gathering 2025 has no current sponsors, so any financial support will come from the generous donations of the community. If you would like to be considered for financial support, please send an email to [email protected], indicating your need and let us know how you hope to contribute to the HSD community through your participation. We will distribute the available funds across as many requestors as possible.

What can I expect ?

You can expect 2 full days (9am – 5pm) of connection and learning. The program will have a mix of structured (panel discussion, practice stories) and semi-structured sessions (Inquiry, Open Space, World Cafe, etc) alongside plenty of time to get to know your peers and their work better.

There will be purely social times, too – at the reception on Wed night, the group dinner on Thurs night and before- and after-hours of the Gathering.

The Arboretum also has kilometers of trails and lovely gardens to explore while connecting with fellow Gatherers.

We hope you will leave HSD Gathering 2025 filled with energy and ideas for how you can work with complexity in your world, and with a long list of peers who are excited to help you, challenge your thinking and just generally cheer you on!
